WHAT: Keep Mount Hope Bay clean - join us for a storm drain marking project in Swansea! For this project, we will be gluing markers that say “Don’t Dump - Drains to Bay” to the curb above storm drains to prevent water pollution. Save The Bay leaders will give maps, instructions and supplies to volunteers and we will then split up and head to different areas to mark drains. We will be marking a grid that is either a 5 minute walk away or a 5 minute drive away depending on the number of sign ups. Volunteers will have the opportunity to take supplies home and continue marking on their own time. Learn more about storm drain marking here. NOTE: This project is very weather dependent, as it cannot be done when streets are wet! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will still meet and give out supplies and instructions to those who want to mark independently. Sunday, August 4 at the same times (9:00-10:30 am) will serve as the rain date

PREPARE FOR THE EVENT:
Always dress for the weather in sturdy, closed-toe shoes.Bring your own water - we recommend a reusable bottle!We will provide all the storm drain marking supplies you will need.

Pre-registration is required.Age requirements: Best for ages 13+; minors under 16 must participate with parent or legal guardians.Need documentation of service hours? We provide confirmation letters upon request! Just ask your cleanup leader at the end of the event.
