WHAT: In partnership with the Town of Narragansett, Save The Bay staff and volunteers will be planting beach grass in the dunes that were damaged during storms this past December and January. Also called American beach grass, this plant can grow in an arid environment, and has a root system that extends up to 3 feet. The grass captures and traps fine wind-blown sand and helps create dunes. We will also be doing shoreline cleanup and removing storm debris from the beach.
