WHAT: We are preparing for storm waves from Hurricane Lee! We need help filling sandbags to protect the Exploration Center & Aquarium from possible flooding. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Scheduled for 10 AM-1 PM; it is ok to come for part of that time (please mention that in the notes) and we will work until the job is completed! If you need service hours and we finish early, you'll still get the full 3 hours.
WHERE: The Exploration Center & Aquarium, 175 Memorial Blvd, Newport, RI. Please park in the main beach parking lot in the employee lot - at the kiosk, let them know you are going to volunteer for Save The Bay. Please stay tuned for emailed parking updates, they may have us park in a different spot.
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:
- Dress for the weather in clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
- Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required.
- Please bring your own water, and work gloves if you have them.
