WHAT: Join our Habitat Restoration team and the Town of Tiverton to plant dune grass at Fogland Beach! Also called American beach grass, this plant can grow in an arid environment, and has a root system that extends up to 3 feet! The grass captures and traps fine wind-blown sand and helps create dunes. Over the past 3 years, Save The Bay has been working with the Town to restore dunes at Fogland Beach which protect the road from flooding during coastal storms or large tide events, and provide habitat for other drought-tolerant plants.
WHEN: Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 3-6pm. Rain date April 7.
WHERE: Fogland Beach, Tiverton, RI. Located off Fogland Road/Three Rod Way. See map for exact location.
