WHAT: Help Compass Rose Beach clean! This is going to be a heavy duty cleanup that will focus on the extensive jetty, where there is a lot of accumulated trash. For this cleanup we are looking for physically fit volunteers who are comfortable walking on the jetty rocks. Open to ages 13+, however all minors (including ages 16+) should be accompanied and supervised by their parent or legal guardian.
WHERE: Approximate address for GPS is 1347 Roger Williams Way, North Kingstown, RI 02852. The beach entrance is shortly BEFORE this address, on the right, with a yellow gate. If you get to the ferry building, you've gone too far! See map for exact location.
PREPARE FOR THE CLEANUP:
- REQUIRED: Review our Instructions & Safety Tips which include COVID-19 guidance.
- Always dress for the weather in sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
- Bring your own water - we recommend a reusable bottle!
- Optional: You may want to bring your own work gloves, trash grabber, or bucket for collecting trash.
- We will provide disposable gloves, trash bags, and hand sanitizer.
Registration notes:
- Pre-registration is required.
- Team volunteering: Signing up as a team? See our Team Signup page for helpful information!
- If the cleanup is full, join the waitlist! Spaces often open up.
Need documentation of service hours? We provide confirmation letters upon request! Just ask your cleanup leader at the end of the event.
