Frustrated by plastic in our oceans and litter in our communities? Want to help your neighbors mobilize to do something about it? Become a Community Cleanup Leader!
For the first hour of this training, we will go over the basics of planning and leading a volunteer cleanup. Then we will launch into leading an an actual Save The Bay cleanup which will take place on our shoreline from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. A Save The Bay staff member will lead the cleanup, while training attendees will assist with handing out supplies, weighing trash, etc.
Volunteers who complete this training can join Save The Bay's team of volunteer cleanup leaders, or use the knowledge to plan cleanups with other groups and organizations. Perfect for scout leaders, students with service projects, environmental or community organizations, corporate volunteer coordinators, or anyone who just wants a cleaner environment! Cleanup leadership is appropriate for volunteers 12+ years old, but any cleanup leaders under 18 must have an adult as a co-leader.
