WHAT: Join Save The Bay for a tree and shrub planting at our Save The Bay Center in Providence! Help beautify and restore this site on the Urban Coastal Greenway by planting blueberry bushes and a red maple tree. Limited spots available! We are seeking hardy volunteers who can dig in unbroken ground and lift at least 25 pounds.
WHEN: Tuesday, May 19, 9-11 AM
WHERE: 100 Save The Bay Drive, Providence, RI. The entrance to Save The Bay is through the Johnson & Wales Harborside Campus, via the main entrance at Harborside Blvd. Waze works best to get you here! Other systems may take you down a gated road (Shipyard St) that you cannot access without a key card. If you use another system, just ignore any directions to turn from Allens Ave onto Ernest St, and continue along Allens until you get to Harborside Blvd. See map for exact location.
PREPARE FOR THE PLANTING:
- Always dress for the weather in sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
- Bring your own water - we recommend a reusable bottle!
- Optional: Help save resources by bringing your own work gloves! We will have extras for anyone who doesn't bring their own.
Registration notes:
- Pre-registration is required.
- Age requirements: Participants must be 16+.
- If the planting is full, join the waitlist! Spaces may open up.
Need documentation of service hours? We provide confirmation letters upon request! Just ask your cleanup leader at the end of the event.
