Help monitor the Palmer River's migratory fish run at Shad Factory Pond in Rehoboth, MA! Seeking volunteers to help Save The Bay determine the health of this historic migratory fish run by signing up for 10 minute observation periods at times and days of their choosing from April 1 to May 31st. This is a fun and flexible opportunity - you do NOT need to be a fish expert, it's easy!
Here's how it works:
- Sign up here to register your interest.
- You will receive a detailed email with complete instructions and training materials.
- Sign up for monitoring times on the Google form that will be provided in the detailed email. We ask volunteers to commit to signing up for at least one ten minute monitoring period per week - and more is welcome!
- Visit the fish ladder and observe for 10 minutes. Record any fish seen, plus weather and other details, in the google form or the paper form that we will provide.
There will be an optional introductory training on Thursday April 8th at 5:30 PM at the monitoring site - details to follow in your confirmation email.
