Location: Providence, RI
Time Commitment: semester length, 12 hrs/week; at least 1-2 days on-site during work hours (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Summary: Are you a detail-oriented, data-driven, creative-minded individual seeking a career in communications? Are you interested in learning about the behind-the-scenes tasks that keep a nonprofit communications department effective and efficient?
Save The Bay is seeking a highly motivated intern to support its communications team in the areas of social media analysis, media monitoring and research, writing, and website auditing—all of which directly support the organization’s efforts to effectively distribute mission-based content about protecting and improving Narragansett Bay! Special tasks and projects can be customized for the right applicant’s areas of interest.
What you will learn:
- How to analyze social media metrics and make recommendations to improve reach and engagement
- Behind-the-scenes content maintenance and development
- Develop an understanding of a media landscape and PR strategy
- How to collaborate with team members to generate innovative and original concepts for video and photo projects
- Experience applying your communications skills in a professional setting
What we require:
- Education: undergraduate juniors and seniors, recent grads, grad students, and beginning professionals
- A passion for nonprofit work and the environment and any combination of the following:
- Creative vision and ability to work independently
- High levels of initiative, curiosity, and attention to detail
