Join the fight against litter as a cleanup leader volunteer for Save The Bay! This training will focus on leading events for the International Coastal Cleanup. Register here and we will send you the zoom link for the training.
Leading cleanups with Save The Bay is something anyone can do - we make it easy! We provide both training and supplies, and can arrange permission and trash pickup from the park or town. We are looking for leaders that are reliable, responsible, and willing to adhere to Save The Bay's procedures, safety standards, and trash data collection protocols.
At this training you will learn the nuts and bolts of how to lead an International Coastal Cleanup event with Save The Bay. We will go over the leader's role, how to set up, how to check people in via our volunteer portal, and how to manage the cleanup, including data collection. You will also have the opportunity to sign up to assistant-lead at an upcoming cleanup to complete your training.
Once you have completed training, you can sign up to co-lead a cleanup on our schedule, and we can also work with you to plan an International Coastal cleanup at a location and date of your choosing! Cleanups work best when led by two leaders - you can lead with a trained friend or family member, or we will match you up with another leader.
Cleanup leadership is appropriate for volunteers 13+ years old, but any cleanup leader under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian as a co-leader.
Please note: this training is not eligible for community service hours.
