This is a refresher on how to lead an International Coastal Cleanup event with Save The Bay - for experienced Beach Captains/Cleanup Leaders only! We will review this year's procedures, which are similar to last year's with a few minor tweaks. Register here and we will send you the Zoom link for the training. If you have not led a Save The Bay cleanup since before covid, you may want to take one of the full trainings.
Things we will go over:
- Refresher on electronic check-in and paper waivers
- Team signup
- Private/Public/Independent cleanups
- Clean Swell app and data cards and how to organize your volunteers to collect data
- This year's timeline (supply pickup, etc)
- Anything you want to ask!
Leading cleanups with Save The Bay is something anyone can do - we make it easy! We provide both training and supplies, and can arrange permission and trash pickup from the park or town. We are looking for leaders that are reliable, responsible, and willing to adhere to our procedures, safety standards, and trash data collection protocols.
Cleanup leadership is appropriate for volunteers 13+ years old, but any cleanup leaders under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian as a co-leader.
Please note: this training is not eligible for community service hours.
