WHAT: Come help us restore the dunes at Easton's Beach in Newport! We will be restoring dune habitat by planting American beach grass (Ammophila brevigulata).
WHEN: Saturday 5/6 and Sunday 5/7, 10 am-12 pm. Sign up for one or both shifts!
WHERE: Save The Bay's Exploration Center & Aquarium, 175 Memorial Blvd, Newport, RI. Please park in the center lot (the second entrance). Let the attendant at the kiosk know you are volunteering for Save The Bay.
PREPARE FOR THE PLANTING:
- Always dress for the weather! It is often colder and windier at the beach.
- Bring your own water - we recommend a reusable bottle!
- Optional: You may want to bring your own trowel, work gloves or knee pads if you have them. Save The Bay will provide trowels, and gloves if needed.
- Check out this video of a recent planting project in Warwick to get inspired!

- Age requirements: This is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity, recommended for ages 8+. Volunteers under 16 must participate with a parent or legal guardian.
