Oakland Beach in the 1960s is co-sponsored by Save the Bay, that will feature original images of Oakland Beach from that era by Carmel Vitullo, the acclaimed Rhode Island photographer, along with other images and items related to Oakland Beach and describing the artistic, social, and environmental context for her work.
Save the Bay created the content for the environmental aspects of the exhibit, and Save the Bay board member George Shuster and his wife Stephanie Van Patten created the exhibit concept and coordinated the various elements of the exhibit.
Other co-sponsors include the City of Warwick Department of Tourism, Culture & Development; Bert Gallery; TD Bank; and the Warwick Historical Society.
This is a great opportunity to support Save the Bay’s outreach to communities across the Bay’s watershed and to learn more about the unique history of Oakland Beach.
The event will be in Warwick Center for the Arts. The Exhibit will be open open to the public from June 1 to June 30 on
Wednesdays: 10am - 4pm
