WHAT: Help keep Narragansett Bay clean with Save The Bay! Shoreline trash is ugly and harmful to wildlife, and cleanups are a great way to make a difference. We provide trash bags, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and insect repellant - you bring the helping hands!

WHERE: Quonochontaug ("Quonnie") Breachway, Charlestown, RI 02813. Meet at the parking area on the left shortly after the paved road ends - we will be meeting here and NOT at the boat ramp at the end of the road. Use 850 W Beach Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813 as an approximate address for GPS, and keep going past it until you see the parking area on the left. SEE MAP for exact location.

WHERE: 100 Save The Bay Drive, Providence, RI. The entrance to Save The Bay is through the Johnson & Wales Harborside Campus, via the main entrance at Harborside Blvd. Waze works best to get you here! Google Maps and other systems may take you down a gated road (Shipyard St) that you cannot access without a key card. If you use another system, just ignore any directions to turn from Allens Ave onto Ernest St, and continue along Allens until you get to Harborside Blvd. See map for exact location.

WHAT: Help keep Narragansett Bay clean with Save The Bay! Shoreline trash is ugly and harmful to wildlife, and cleanups are a great way to make a difference. We provide trash bags, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and insect repellant - you bring the helping hands!

WHERE: Nanaquaket Bridge Waterfront Public Access Point. Use 58 Nanaquaket Rd, Tiverton, RI as an approximate address for GPS and keep an eye out for the fishing access area at the west end of the bridge. See map for exact location. NOTE: parking is limited, please carpool if you can!

PREPARE

Bring your own water - we recommend a reusable bottle!Bring garden or work gloves (disposable gloves available).Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and dress for the weather.Plan time to shower and change afterward.Optional: Save resources by bringing your own trash grabber and bucket for collecting trash.

SAFETY TIPS

Use tick repellent and sunscreen (provided).Watch for poison ivy and don’t touch it! Learn to recognize it here.Stay within sight of the group.Watch your step! Avoid slippery rocks and sensitive dunes.Don’t overfill trash bags or carry heavy items without help.For sharp items or needles, inform a leader for proper disposal

WHAT NOT TO PICK UP

Embedded items (anything you'd have to dig out of the ground)Natural items such as seaweed, driftwood, or even a dead fish or bird. Nature will take care of it!Anything too heavy, sharp or hazardous to handle safely. Report these items to your cleanup leader.

AFTER THE CLEANUP: Use hand sanitizer, do a tick check, and shower/change at home to minimize exposure to ticks and poison ivy.

WHERE: 100 Save The Bay Drive, Providence, RI. The entrance to Save The Bay is through the Johnson & Wales Harborside Campus, via the main entrance at Harborside Blvd. Waze works best to get you here! Google Maps and other systems may take you down a gated road (Shipyard St) that you cannot access without a key card. If you use another system, just ignore any directions to turn from Allens Ave onto Ernest St, and continue along Allens until you get to Harborside Blvd. See map for exact location.

Meet at the parking area on the left shortly after the paved road ends - we will be meeting here and NOT at the boat ramp at the end of the road. WHERE: 263 India St, Providence, RI, 02903. Meet next to the parking lot, which is just by the intersection of India and Gano streets. Parking is limited, and most people will need to find street parking, as the lot fills up quickly. Please carpool or use alternative transportation if possible! See map for exact location.
