Needs From: Save The Bay

Volunteer: Rights-of-Way Monitoring

Create an account if it is your first time here!

UPDATE: We have had a resounding response to this project!! At this point, all rights-of-way in Rhode Island have a monitor EXCEPT for Block Island. We are now taking backup monitors to step in in case the original monitor cannot do it. Please continue to sign up if you are interested!

ROW Monitoring is fast, simple, and powerful - here's how you can get involved!

Register as a monitor volunteer: Click the "Respond" button above. (If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to log in or create an account. Once you have logged in, click the "Respond" button again.) Scroll to the bottom of the Need Response page and click the "Submit Need Response" button to register.

Shortly after you receive the automated confirmation email, you will receive an email from our Community Organizer with instructions to select which Right(s)-of-Way you will monitor. This includes  location information on each Right-of-Way. If someone has already signed up for a Right-of-Way, please select another.

Visit your Right(s)-of-Way once during the 10-day monitoring window (May 2 - 11), and fill out the Observations Form with your smartphone to report ROW conditions at each site. NOTE: This volunteer project requires the use of a cell phone or tablet with a good data plan in order to upload images.

This volunteer opportunity is open to ages 18+. Minors may participate if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. NOTE: This opportunity is not eligible for court mandated community service.

Questions about this program, please contact Community Organizer Kate McCarthy.
Any difficulty registering? Contact Volunteer Manager July Lewis. We want you on our team!
